The trip coincided with a formal recognition of this bond. On September 4, 2026, Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi issued a proclamation declaring the day Hawaiʻi – Las Vegas "Ninth Island" Partnership Day, citing Las Vegas's long affectionate association with generations of Hawaiʻi residents as the "Ninth Island," a nod to the deep cultural, personal, professional, and economic ties between the two communities.

The proclamation specifically recognized Cushman & Wakefield ChaneyBrooks, founded in 1960 and headquartered in Honolulu, for combining global resources and best practices through its alliance with Cushman & Wakefield with local knowledge and expertise, supporting economic growth across Hawaiʻi and Guam.
