Professional Expertise Vice President Curt Nakamura is a highly experienced commercial real estate professional with more than three decades of property management and operational leadership across Hawaiʻi’s office and mixed-use commercial assets. Throughout his career, Nakamura has managed major Honolulu commercial properties and led operational teams responsible for large, multi-tenant office and retail portfolios. Nakamura brings extensive experience overseeing complex downtown office properties including the Topa Financial Center, Davies Pacific Center, and Airport Center. His expertise spans all aspects of commercial property operations, including tenant relations, vendor and contract management, capital improvement planning, financial reporting, budgeting, and long-term asset stabilization strategies. Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield ChaneyBrooks, Nakamura served as Vice President of Commercial Property Management with Avalon Group, where he led operations teams responsible for multiple commercial assets under management. In that role, he oversaw operational performance, financial reporting, and strategic initiatives designed to enhance asset value and tenant service across the firm’s commercial portfolio. Earlier in his career, Nakamura served for more than two decades as General Manager with Anderson Real Estate Group, where he was responsible for the management and operations of the Topa Financial Center – one of Honolulu’s largest office complexes totaling more than 500,000 square feet across two towers and a retail podium. In this role, he coordinated all aspects of building operations, tenant relations for approximately 120 tenants, financial reporting, annual budgeting, and capital improvement initiatives. Nakamura began his career in commercial real estate as Assistant Property Manager overseeing leasing and operations at the Amfac Center (later renamed Topa Financial Center), where he played a key role in increasing building occupancy and supporting property operations for ownership based in Japan. Born and raised in Hawaiʻi, Nakamura is widely respected for his operational discipline, hands-on management approach, and long-standing relationships within Hawaiʻi’s commercial real estate community. In addition to his industry work, he has remained active in community service, including leadership roles supporting social service initiatives and downtown Honolulu improvement efforts.
