Scott Hayashi

Scott has over thirty (30) years of real estate experience, primarily in commercial real estate asset management, but also in leasing and development. He recently joined Cushman & Wakefield Chaney Brooks as Executive Director, Asset Services. In this role he will oversee the Commercial Property Management and Asset Management Department. He will also be actively involved in client, community, and government relations. Over his real estate career, Scott has held several key leadership positions. Most recently, Scott was with the City and County of Honolulu. He served on Mayor Rick Blangiardi’s Cabinet as the Director of the Department of Land Management (“DLM”), which is responsible for protecting, developing, and managing the City’s real property interests as well as all real estate transactions, such as acquisitions and leasing. Prior to that, he served as DLM’s Asset Management Administrator overseeing the management and leasing of City owned affordable rental housing projects. Scott’s extensive real estate experience also includes: Under Pauahi Management Corporation, which was a former subsidiary of Kamehameha Schools, he served as the General Manager of the Hawaii Kai Towne Center overseeing all operations - management and leasing; thereafter, he was promoted to Vice President/Corporate Officer in charge of the management, sales, and development of a diverse portfolio of commercial, industrial, and residential real estate projects in four states;. As an Asset Manager for Kamehameha Schools, he oversaw properties in Hawaii Kai, Waialae-Kahala and Moiliili. When Scott was a Real Estate Officer/Asset Manager at Bank of Hawaii, he was responsible for the management, leasing, sale, and purchase of properties for large foundation trust clients. His other positions were Director of Asset Management and Auxiliary Services for Hawaii Pacific University which exposed him to all facets of Aloha Tower Marketplace redevelopment into student housing and mixed used spaces; and Commercial Real Estate Asset Manager for the Office of Hawaiian Affairs where he led the Commercial Properties Division in the planning, design, development, management and leasing of 30 acres in Kaka’ako, OHA’s corporate office building and all facilities.
